Why AM I Doing THis?

There was a moment I’ll never forget—sitting in a hospital bed, burned out and in physical pain from stress-induced ulcers. I had been overperforming for years, doing everything “right,” and still being passed over for the big roles.

People would say, “Why isn’t Carmen getting promoted?” And I started asking myself the same question.

I had the education, the results, and even the respect. But I didn’t have the visibility. I didn’t have a voice. Deep down, I was exhausted from trying to lead the way I thought I was supposed to—as someone who always had to prove her worth.

That’s when I realized: I couldn’t lead from burnout anymore. I had to rebuild from within.

In addition to my degrees, I studied psychology, mindset, spirituality, energy work—you name it.

I let go of survival-mode leadership and stepped into something deeper: identity-based leadership.

I started leading like the woman I knew I could be.
